I bought a leather sectional from RC Willey and was told by my sales person that the warranty is a must!! It will alleviate all my fears of owning a leather couch with pets and, children.

We specifically asked about stains, scuffs, tears, and anything else that may happen to the couch. My sales person stated that everything is covered down to the springs. If there was a claim that someone just needed to come out and make sure that the damage to the couch wasn't intentional or vandalism. If they can fix the couch they will and if it can't be fixed then they will replace it.

So we spent the $140 on the leather protection, and we have owned the couch for almost 3 years. Today, my cat was on the couch and got spooked. As you can guess, all claws came out and there are some tears on one of the pieces. Not to worry, I bought the 3 year warranty and I am just 16 days shy of it's expiration...whew!!

So I submitted a claim and explained what happened, I also let them know that there were some areas where the stitching is coming apart and where the leather is fading with confidence that they were a reputable store that wants to keep their customers happy especially if they paid for a warranty!! I was very impressed that it didn't take but 20 minutes to respond to my claim...wow!! I open the email to find that I was denied. They don't cover defective leather that is fading for no apparent reason, they don't cover stitching that is coming undone, and they don't cover tears even though it states that tears are covered in the warranty.

Well, the tears could have been covered I suppose, but since my cat made the tears then it wasn't covered. These people sell their warranties knowing that they won't honor them. The sales staff are either lying to customers about what the warranty covers or they are not trained on what the warranty covers. I already have a bad taste in my mouth when it was delivered and one of the delivery men dropped part of the sectional on my hardwood floor and was hoping I didn't notice.

He quickly picked up the piece off the floor put it in place. Then had me sign two pieces of paper. He told me that they were both to acknowledge that I received my furniture in good condition. So later that day I noticed my floor was dented, and remembered that the delivery driver dropped my couch there...ugh!

I called RC Willey and they told me that I am out of luck because I signed a waiver against damages done to my house from when he dropped the couch. What a *** artist that delivery man was! Boy, I was determined to let RC *** know what kind of person is working for them. So I called the manager from the store I bought the couches from and told them just what happened.

The response I got from them was, apologetic but my hands are tied sort of thing. So much for that Satisfaction Guarantee!! I am not happy with RC ***!

Their furniture is nice looking but quality is on the lower end, and their customer service is just horrible. I won't be buying from them again!!

Reason of review: Warranty issue.

Monetary Loss: $3100.

Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered.
