I purchased a twin sleeper sofa (product number 323****) for $2,000.01. I paid an additional $49.99 for their 7 year fabric protection cover.

Prior to purchasing the fabric protector the sales lady specifically assured my wife and I that the warranty covered all stains. Unfortunately some red wine was spilt on the couch. I followed the cleaning requirements and dabbed the stained areas. I phoned RC Willey and they sent their contract cleaners out the next day.

The cleaner was unable to remove the stain, he photographed the sofa and stated that he would send the photo to RC Willey who would replace the sofa. I heard nothing further, so contacted RC Willey and was advised that my claim was being denied. I phoned the sales lady who stated that the sofa would not be replaced as the stain is not on the fabric but on the mattress!! The sofa forms the mattress, it's one unit!!

There are no exclusions or exemptions in the warranty. Simply do not under any circumstances buy anything from RC Willey!!

Monetary Loss: $2050.

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

RC WILLEY really does suck! I purchased a reclining couch from them less than 3 years ago and now it is broken.

I paid $70 to have someone come out and look at it and now they can't find the parts that are broken so they are just blowing me off. I won't buy anything from them anymore.

Ian and Laura,

An employee mentioned to me about your comment back that we didn't do anything for you. I apologize for the delay in responding to you. I wanted to come back and let you know that I did follow up accordingly with the correct people. We do honor our warranties that fall under what is covered. I know that you made your complaint several places online as well as the BBB. In our email conversation I did mention that I would connect with the correct people to see if anything else could be done, and I was able to do that. Our warranty does state that it will cover the stains on the top of the fabric, but not on the sleeper. The sleeper itself is not covered with a Fabric Warranty. Specific things can be covered with the warranty and with parts & labor if issues do happen to the frame. In this case, nothing could be done because it didn't relate to what could be covered. Once again, I do apologize for the issue.

Just a follow up from my original post. I emailed "Adam" and had a very positive response from him telling me that my complaint had been passed on.

Unfortunately, that was the last i heard. I just wish there was some way of attaching a copy of my warranty to this post so everyone can see the wording and understand my annoyance at RC Willey's refusal to honour their own warranty!!
